|Born in Brooklyn, New York, L. C. (Linda) Herst's life has centered around horses since her family's move to Arizona almost fifty years ago.
"My paintings reflect an honest personal response to the world around me. I want to tell stories of the west through light, color, design and texture; and provoke an emotional rush in the viewer."
Linda's childhood hero was Roy Rogers. She moved to Arizona in 1955 and rode every stable horse in Phoenix. Linda married and moved to Gilbert where she bought a ranch and raised kids, horses, peacocks and calves. She also sketched and photographed rodeo cowboys right in the arena to later use in paintings. She rode on ranch round-ups to witness first hand the spirit of the west. Linda rides her horse Ambush in parades dressed as Cowboy Mollie.
Her paintings have been displayed in numerous shows including the George Phippen Invitational Western Art Show in Prescott, Arizona.
